Space for Ideas

Space for Ideas, an intensive three days for choreographers and composers to meet and create new ideas working closely in collaboration, facilitated by Fin Walker and Ben Park, WalkerDanceParkMusic, held at The Point in Eastleigh, and co-ordinated by South East Dance.

A place where ideas, thoughts, discussions and questions about working together in collaboration within different art forms can arise. I thoroughly enjoyed the time, meeting new artists, sowing the seeds of new ideas and feeling confident for the potential for them to grow into much larger ideas and pieces.

I had the pleasure of working with Tom Spencer and Tommaso Perego during the intensive, who are both hugely inspiring people and artists. I look forward to continuing the relationships I made with both the composers and choreographers and cant wait to expand and develop the ideas that came out of these three days further into new projects!

Here are a couple of images of the key thoughts that came up around collaborating...

We also met up at a later date to meet Siobhan Davies for an informal conversation about her new piece ROTOR, discussing her relationships and process of working with all the artists and art forms involved in this interdisciplinary project. As well as see the performance and art pieces in and around Siobhan Davies Studios which was a delight, to be re-united with the artists from Space for Ideas and be immersed in such a fascinating concept that crosses so many forms was a great experience.

I have created a dance animation film in collaboration with film maker Ni Wen and animator Sophie Gate. The film is called 'Little Triangle Trees' and will be screened as part of the Clementi Triplum concert performance in the main hall. There are also many other spectacles happening in the foyer to be discovered on the night...
